# Lolly and Figma

_Last checked: 28 September 2026._

If your designers work in Figma, this page says how Lolly sits beside it: what Figma does that Lolly does not, and where Lolly takes over the repeat work.

## What Figma does better

[Figma Design](https://www.figma.com/design/) brings together interface design, components, interactive prototypes and developer handoff. Its established product-design practice and ecosystem matter when a team needs to design and specify a whole application, and its live editing runs at a scale Lolly's work collabs have not reached.

## Where they overlap

Both let you arrange type, shapes and images on a canvas and work with other people. Figma also covers template-based brand production: [Figma Buzz](https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/31271566667543-Guide-to-Figma-Buzz) makes assets from templates and fills them from CSV or XLSX files. Lolly's [Import a design](/info/create/design-import.html) opens Figma files as editable layouts, so the two can share work.

## How Lolly does the overlapping job

Lolly turns a design into a [reusable tool with rules](/info/create/create-a-tool.html). The tool runs in the browser or the CLI and takes its inputs from a link, a script or a batch grid, so one template serves a person editing one file and a team making many.

A [private collab](/info/create/collaborate.html) pairs two devices directly, with no account and no internet needed on a shared network. Standalone Lolly renders offline. Content Credentials are on by default for supported exports, and you can turn them off.

## With an organisation

Lolly Work adds authenticated work collabs with shared edits, live cursors and saved team sessions, plus single sign-on, shared catalogues, project permissions, approvals and server rendering. [What runs where](/info/create/compare.html#what-runs-where) sets the two parts side by side.
